Last summer, for the second year in a row, my friend, Bruce, and I made three trips to the small town of Mountainair, NM, to photograph the Mountainair Gymkhana Rodeo -- a rodeo created for ranch kids in central New Mexico.

To share some of the action and excitement of the 2024 Rodeo, I have combed through hundreds of images and selected a bunch for display in two ways:
- A selection of still photos based on the theme of hats and hair, which are included below, and
